Visit by "Banda Angelo Bodini" di Casalbuttano e Offanengo

AMESBURY TOWN BAND WELCOMES OLD FRIENDS FROM ITALY

     A second visit from “Banda Musicale Angelo Bodini” of Casalbuttano. For this visit the Casalbuttano band  was helped out by players from the nearby town of Offanengo and accompanied by a loyal group of supporters, the deputy mayor of Casalbuttano, Duillio Villa, and their Association President, Cinzia Boiocchi.

      Before the concert the bands held a joint rehearsal in the new "Bowman Centre" followed by a very enjoyable "Bring and Share"  buffet meal and a wonderful impromptu session by the Italian musicians, which must also have entertained the local residents.

On  Saturday 27th August both bands staged a grand free concert and fireworks display in the grounds of Amesbury Abbey. Prior to the concert the visitors were received by the mayor of Amesbury, Andy Rind-Tutt , in the Abbey followed by a joint supper.

On the following day the bands presented another free, open-air concert. This time in Salisbury Cathedral Close. The climax of the visit was a grand supper in the Cathedral refectory beneath the Spire. A great time was had by all.
